I am a former United States Marine having served from July of 1962 to October of 1966. I was honorably discharged as a Sgt. E-5. I am a retired production supervisor from the General Motors Metal Fab. Plant in Lordstown, Ohio. Since that time I had jumped from part time job to part time job tying to keep busy and looking for something I actually enjoyed doing.. I have found it.. Believe me when I say it is a: "Revolution in Flexibility, Strength, Conditioning, and Rehab Programs."

In January of 2003, I attended my first Jump Stretch 'rubber band' (actually latex) adult fitness class at the Jump Stretch Fitness Center in Youngstown, Ohio. Since that time I have become a certified Flex Band instructor and I have as much or more enthusiasm today as I did back then...

This spring, 2009, I found myself talking to the owner of a building which one half was vacant, about the possibility of opening a Rubberband Gym™  ‘ here in my home town of Warren, Ohio.  Running my own gym was something that I had thought about doing but figured that was about it.. Just a thought.  Well, to make a long story short I agreed with the owner in late April to take over on May 1, 2009 and install all necessary equipment, wall units, squat stations, etc. to make a functional working Rubberband gym™.  No Weights. No Machines.  All resistance bands. I have had a slow steady growth in business since then.  It is getting to the point where I am looking for experienced flex band/resistance band instructors to fill in on a part time basis.

I developed, with the help of my brother in law, David Lees, the wall unit that you will see on this site.  This wall unit, along with the bands, will provide a super workout along with many, many stretching alternatives.  I have filed for a US patent for this design and currently wait word on its fate.  In addition to the wall unit you will see the Grab Bar that is used with the rubberband squats.  This too is one of my efforts.

I will also have new products coming on line in the near future.  Stay tuned.

I look back at the past 6 years and recall all the traveling for clinics, camps, trade shows, demos, etc. from Chicago to Orlando and all over the Midwest and East coast, tens of thousands of miles have been logged with Dick Hartzell the creator and driving force behind flex band/resistance band strength training.  Dick is to alternative strength/speed training as Ray Kroc is to the fast food industry in general and hamburgers in particular.  I will always be grateful for the 6 year internship.
